May: Love ‘buds’ and blooming books
|April 30, 2010||Posted by Miss Shari under Children's Literature, Events & Celebrations, spring|
The last few weeks in April are great times to teach your little ones about seeds, sprouts and caring for flower gardens. Some preschool themes and activities include rainy day paints and prints, terrariums and flower pots.
Blooming books you should include in your units and with your little ones are, Lois Ehlert’s Planting a Rainbow all the way to Eric Carle’s The Tiny Seed. From two to four there are lot’s of possiblities in store. Check out more of these flower tales (read the full article review here). As you prepare for the best Mother’s Day weekend ever, be sure to water your flowers and care for your “love buds” – Mom will have a smile on her face when she sees all the work put into her special day. Join us later in the week as we talk about Mother/child books .
