Even preschool is back to school…..

There is only one week left and school will be back in session – if not already. But normally, preschool doesn’t begin until after Labor Day!

In these last few weeks, storytime has come across some interesting stories.  We can’t forget our pal Pinkalicious -she was reading up on ‘Goofy Gags and Giggles…’ in one of her latest adventures Pinkalicious: Tickled Pink. She didn’t stop there she was back in an I Can Read Beginning Reader Level 1 , with her pal Goldilicious, titled Pinkalicious: School Rules.

As Pinkalicious , and Goldilicious, eased our minds about preschool with laughs and giggles. We couldn’t forget our waddlers, toddlers and twos. Numbers and Shapes with Fisher Price was the latest in this month’s Toddlers and Twos feature. With their heavy board book pages and lift-flaps toddlers will be fascinated. Colors, numbers, shapes and interactive pages really set these books apart. Your little ones will be amazed. This is so important for young learners to have books that will allow them to use their “need to touch” and “need to explore “senses.

As the first day of preschool nears, parents should have no fear. There are a few simple things to ease your mind.

Be sure you have met your child’s teacher, asked questions, taken a tour of the classroom, know the schedule and are prepared with needed supplies for your child’s first day. Yes you may find that you are sending your 4-year-old off with more than your 14-year -old, but that comes with the territory. Little one’s need extra supplies sometimes, being prepared is the key. Once you have all those bases covered drop off will be easy peasy. With some reassurance, love and lots of support your day will go pleasantly and quickly. And if you are wondering just what your little ones do all day long at preschool or day care here is a break down of a daily schedule.

Fret not…..you and your little ones will be fine as school starts. Lots of luck, happy reading and welcome back to school!
