It was a fabulous Friday at storytime, indeed. With all this fall and winter fashion talk – Fancy Nancy was just the right fit for a Friday fashion fiasco. This latest Fancy Nancy tale is sure to have you and your little ones improvising through shoe dilemmas, accessory antics and bad hair days galore! In this “fabulous fable” Nancy is getting ready for her sisters big party. She is all set to shop for “little sis’s piarate eye patch” to compliment her attire. Nancy stumbles upon a fantastic fancy lace fan – the problem is she is out of money.
So Nancy has a great idea. She decides to set up her own Fashion Boutique. It is complete with bargain prices and all the accessories a gal could want. Nancy is sure to make enough money for her lace fan. See what happens when little sister wants one of Nancy’s hottest items on the bargain table in Fancy Nancy and the Fabulous Fashion Boutique by Jane O’Conner and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser. This week we are “Falling into Fairytales”. It is a nice time of year to drift away into a good fairy tale classic and some new ones too! Perfect for toddlers and twos is this bedtime story, Princess Says Goodnight by Naomi Howland and ilustrated by David Small.
In this bedtime tale, “princess” dances and prances through the royal palace on a betime parade. She smiles, sings and counts her sheep and she has time for a bedtime treat. Complete with a bubble bath and quartet lullaby, she prances to bed in her royal robes. She hangs up her tiara and kisses her frog prince goodnight before snuggling into her bed tight. This kind of reminds me of Cinderella before she was grown up. See the full artricle review here.
