The snow is not gone yet….

It’s not snowing out now, but there is lot of snow left from the many storms that have passed this way. I know each day as the weather wheel song is displayed during circle time at work the kids always say snowy. They love the snow and all the activities that come with it. There’s a joy and a sense of magic that comes from calm quiet snowfall in the winter.
A great book to share is The Snowman by Raymond Briggs. There are no words in this story and I actually have the flip up board book – for counting and other fun activities with small groups. This little story has been made into many different activities, books, games, movies and so much more. It the whit and magic surrounding it that makes it a classical tale for children and adults to share. The latest article featuring this snowy read can be seen here. Even though the story is focused around Christmas Eve – it is a great snowy story and the artwork is wonderful.
But if you have some time and you don’t mind David Bowe – I dunno how he ends up on all these things 🙂 sit back on the story carpet and watch the movie right here on Miss Shari’s Storytime.
May the magic of winter be upon you and keep you cheery until the warm spring colors return.
