“Read” by example…Kate DiCamillo

In a recent (months ago in fact) interview, Raymond Arroyo , of EWTN Nightly News, interviews Kate DiCamillo, children’s author and National Ambassador for the Library of Congress. Arroyo, points out the depth of DiCamillo’s content and the great virtues that can be seen in her stories as DiCamillo shares how her writing (two pages a day 🙂 ) is a journey of discovery.
A few points to consider: how you read and what you read – read what you love and “read” by example. A point on writing – writing through outline or let the story create itself. Finally, support literacy as a “gift” and in the community through libraries and shared reading.
