Rhyme Time: Celebrate National Poetry Month this April

This month fun with words is the theme – check out some of these poetry picture books. Author Eloise Greenfield and illustrator Jan Spivey Gilchrist have teamed up in two poetic picture books Honey, I Love – a rhyming storybook through the eyes of a young girl about the simple joys in life – and In the Land of Words a collection of short poems and word plays.

Next Kam Mak shares his collection of poems in My Chinatown – a beautifully illustrated walk through a year in New York’s Chinatown. Using vibrant colors and life like drawings each season is created into a life like experience.
Finally, just in time for Earth Day, a lively picture book, This is the Earth by Diane Z. Shore and Jessica Alexander and paintings by Wendell Minor. A wonderful resource for sharing Earth Day activities for recycling, caring for the Earth, respecting nature.

Enjoy these amazing picture books for story time, quiet time or rhyme time.

Happy Reading, Writing and Rhyming,
